Ingrid Michaelson
Last night I went to Ingrid's 4th Annual Holiday Hop at the Highline Ballroom. Always, always, always wonderful. Third year in a row... I'm kinda wishing it was four.

Concerts
This summer was crazy with concerts. I wish I had posted right after I had gone to each show but here's a list of the greatest hits since I last posted:

VAMPIRE WEEKEND 09-15-2010 Radio City Music Hall
They were everything I love about Vampire Weekend.
Perfectly awesome.

BEACH HOUSE With Vampire Weekend
Zebras. Become obsessed too.

INGRID MICHAELSON 10-13-2010 Best Buy Theater
Easily my favorite female vocalist.

BESS ROGERS With Ingrid Michaelson
She's also got an 80's cover band... come on.

OF MONTREAL 09-18-2010 Terminal 5
Weirdest. Show. EVER.

JENELLE MONAE With Of Montreal
My surprise of that night. I which I knew about her before.

PHOENIX 10-20-2010 Madison Square Garden
Consistently the best live band I've ever seen.

DIRTY PROJECTORS With Phoenix
Boys and girls. Killer tunes.

MICHAEL BUBLE 11-28-2010 Madison Square Garden
Love, love, love.

Backstreet's Back, alright!

Last Thursday night I went to see the Backstreet Boys for the seventh time. Now, I went with Lauren thinking ok, we both used to be BSB crazy and it would be fun to bond over. I left and I have not been able to stop listening to them. Seriously, they came out on stage and I don't know what came over me: I started screaming and jumping up and down like the ground was on fire. Lauren started crying and started screaming "I love you" for I'm pretty sure what was the first of about three thousand times.
I really, honestly didn't think that I would go that crazy but it was one of the best nights that I've had in a really long time. They sang some really random old stuff plus, they've got some really good new stuff. I'm not afraid to say it: I'm in love with BSB again.

Vampire Weekend

Argh. I am so behind on the things I want to blog about. Anyways- 2 weeks ago now [March 12th] I went to a taping of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon which was so much fun! But what made it even more fun was that Margaret scored us band bench tickets to see Vampire Weekend! Easily one of the coolest things ever. Watch it here!
Current Obsession

And perhaps my forever obsession. Last night I went to see Michael Buble (for the 6th time) at Madison Square Garden. I think my heart nearly exploded I was so happy. Man, if this guy isn't talent I don't know what is. Love, love, love.

Concerts: Day one and two.

Thursday night I went to see Jamie Cullum play at Town Hall for the first time in years. He was just a good as a remembered him though playing a bunch of stuff from his new cd The Pursuit. I feel like he can be a little self-indulgent sometimes but he can put on a great show. [This feeling might simply be because he sang "Cry Me a River" ... well you decide. Jamie or Michael.]
THEN! Last night I went to go see Muse at Madison Square Garden with openers Silversun Pickups. I really honestly had no idea what they sang at all but that show was crazy! It was such a good time and I can now see what all the hype is around these guys. Good times. These are legitimate rockstars.

Ra Ra Riot!

Last minute this week I decided that I wanted to go see Ra Ra Riot at BAM and I'm SO glad that I did tonight!!! This sextet is from Syracuse (they all met going to school at SU) and they're pretty much amazing. The lead singer also has a side project with one of the guys from Vampire Weekend, Discovery, which is also worthy of obsession and has been mine since early last summer.

Passion Pit

Gosh, I've been so lazy about updating. I have a whole slew of things that I need to post but more importantly, I went to see Passion Pit two weeks ago last Friday (January 8th) at Terminal 5. They were crazy good and I had SO much fun. I really wish I had posted about it sooner because seriously, it was insane. Plus, I got an awesome show poster. I'll upload a picture when I get a minute or two.

Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre

Drool. Check out the full article that I read about the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre by REX and OMA located in Dallas, TX. It's designed to be fully functional with all the seating able to be moved. I need to learn more.

Ingrid Michaelson
I went to see Ingrid Michaelson again last night at City Winery with Margaret and like always, she was amazing and wonderful. At this point, this was like the third time I had seen her sing this song with Greg Laswell and I've finally fully fallen in love with it. Fall in love too.

I went to see Joshua Radin at Webster Hall last night. Love, love, love. Simply amazing.
PS. Did I mention that he's amazing? Oh, I did? Well, he is.

I want to see this!

This is a proposed building for the Taipei Pop Music Center by Nabito Architects. This thing just looks crazy. Check out the whole article here.

Phoenix/Passion Pit

I went to see Phoenix and Passion Pit last night at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park. I don't even know what to say about it except it was one of the best shows I've ever been to. I went by myself and it was still crazy amounts of fun. They cranked it to 11.

Swing Open Up Your Chest and Let It In...

...just let the love, love, love begin.
I've been a little lazy about posting this but I went to see Ingrid Michaelson again last Wednesday night at Webster Hall and she was amazing as always. [Thanks to Margaret for the picture.] Johnny Marnell and Greg Holden both opened for her who were both great. I especially loved Greg's cover of "Walking On Sunshine". The highlight of the evening though was Ingrid's impromptu harmonica song with someone in the crowd. She was talking about how no one carries around a harmonica with them and of course someone had one so once she was so excited it was in the key of C she started to play this. And I almost forgot about the Mexican Song!

The Fray

I went to see the Fray last night (for about the millionth time) at the Fair and like always, they were amazing! They're so good live- I just can't get enough! I had forgotten how much I really love them.

Eight Down
I went to see Jason Mraz at Jones Beach last night. I can't even begin to explain how much I love him. K'naan and G Love & Special Sauce opened for him. (This one's for you, Erin!)

Matt & Kim
I went to see Matt & Kim play last night at Hudson River Park and they were a lot of fun. There were SO many people there but I hadn't ever really heard of them before (they've been around for a while). Anyways, they were pretty good.

OC Performing Arts Center

I'm not so sure yet that I'm a big fan of this one yet but the picture in red certainly caught my eye. Check out the article that I found about it when I accidentally typed in We Heart This instead of the one I just posted about. Oh well, that's how penicillin was made.

Danish Radio Concert Hall
Here's another building to add to my collection of all things music. [Sigh- someday I'll get to design one]. I came across this one in the latest issue of Interior Design. This is the Danish Radio Concert Hall in Copenhagen, Denmark. Designed by Ateliers Jean Nouvel this glass box lights up with color and sound containing four music halls, a restaurant-bar and shops. I posted a while back about UNStudio which was also featured in this article.
