Simple Love

Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

You & I

Ingrid Michaelson

Last night I went to Ingrid's 4th Annual Holiday Hop at the Highline Ballroom. Always, always, always wonderful. Third year in a row... I'm kinda wishing it was four.

Concerts

This summer was crazy with concerts. I wish I had posted right after I had gone to each show but here's a list of the greatest hits since I last posted:

VAMPIRE WEEKEND 09-15-2010 Radio City Music Hall

They were everything I love about Vampire Weekend.

Perfectly awesome.

BEACH HOUSE With Vampire Weekend

Zebras. Become obsessed too.

INGRID MICHAELSON 10-13-2010 Best Buy Theater

Easily my favorite female vocalist.

BESS ROGERS With Ingrid Michaelson

She's also got an 80's cover band... come on.

OF MONTREAL 09-18-2010 Terminal 5

Weirdest. Show. EVER.

JENELLE MONAE With Of Montreal

My surprise of that night. I which I knew about her before.

PHOENIX 10-20-2010 Madison Square Garden

Consistently the best live band I've ever seen.

DIRTY PROJECTORS With Phoenix

Boys and girls. Killer tunes.

MICHAEL BUBLE 11-28-2010 Madison Square Garden

Love, love, love.

Ingrid Michaelson

I went to see Ingrid Michaelson again last night at City Winery with Margaret and like always, she was amazing and wonderful. At this point, this was like the third time I had seen her sing this song with Greg Laswell and I've finally fully fallen in love with it. Fall in love too.

Rainy Day Music

The lovely Ingrid Michaelson.

Swing Open Up Your Chest and Let It In...

...just let the love, love, love begin.

I've been a little lazy about posting this but I went to see Ingrid Michaelson again last Wednesday night at Webster Hall and she was amazing as always. [Thanks to Margaret for the picture.] Johnny Marnell and Greg Holden both opened for her who were both great. I especially loved Greg's cover of "Walking On Sunshine". The highlight of the evening though was Ingrid's impromptu harmonica song with someone in the crowd. She was talking about how no one carries around a harmonica with them and of course someone had one so once she was so excited it was in the key of C she started to play this. And I almost forgot about the Mexican Song!

Everybody

I just bought the new Ingrid Michaelson cd Everybody and it's SO good. I mean, I really expect nothing less from her but still it's amazing. I don't think there's anything she's done that I haven't loved, actually. That's why she's snagged one of my top favorite spots. OK, so to sum everything up: love, love, love. My two favorite tracks from Everybody have to be "Are We There Yet" and "Locked Up". I can't wait to see her on the 13th now! (Holy smokes, that's so soon!)

Greg Laswell

I just finished watching Confessions of a Shopaholic (it wasn't such a great movie but whatever) but the one thing that I loved the most about it was this cover of "Girls Just Want To Have Fun". I knew I had heard it before... then it hit me! I had seen this guy- Greg Laswell- play with Ingrid Michaelson last December for her Holiday Hop concert. Anyways, check him and the song out.

New Ingrid!

Ok, so I've been a little obsessed with Ingrid Michaelson lately (I can't help it... she's so good!) but now that I've found one of her new songs, I can't stop listening to it. I can't wait to go see her with Margaret!

Ingrid Michaelson

I'm completely obsessed with Ingrid Michaelson. (I'm going to see her again in September!!!) Awesome cover of Radiohead.

I love a good singer/songwriter.

I've already posted about my two other favorite artists (Jason Mraz & Joshua Radin) so it's about time that I profess my love for all things Ingrid Michaelson. She's been on tour and done duets with both Jason and Josh and will hopefully continue. She's amazing. There's really not much more that's left to say.

Ps. have you seen that new Mott's apple juice commercial with Marcia Cross? That's Ingrid singing in the background! "Be OK"
