Hello, Handsome.
Yesterday I got around to watching Uncertainty starting Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Lynn Collins. It follows the couple on a 4th of July in New York with the flip of a coin and the consequences of their choices. I was completely engrossed in the movie and couldn't figure out how everything was going to end. But I was also all over the fact that JGL is a major stud. He was on SNL this weekend too and was actually really awesome. (Plus, he impersonated Jason Mraz). Smitten. Oh right, I got sidetracked... I really liked the movie.

Take A Minute

Over the summer I saw K'naan open for Jason Mraz and I was blown away with him. I didn't think I would actually like him but I did! This came up on my iPod and I was feeling it today.

1,000 Things Jason Mraz

I've been in love with the Jason Mraz website for a while now and I've finally checked out the masterminds behind it. It's by a little group called Ok Rocket and I think the site for Mr. Mraz is way deserving of the awards that they've won for it. Then I decided to check out who did all of the artwork that was all over We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things. (This has been out for over a year and I'm finally just getting around to this). Anyways, it was done by David Shrigley who also did all the typeface. Of course I had to look up who the artist was in the jacket of the cd which I don't think I'd opened since I cracked it out of the plastic. To my surprise, at the end of the jacket was this great picture of Jason. Bil Zelman was the photographer and his website really made me crush on his photography. Let's just pretend I posted this in 2008.
Lady dreamer, you might me the soundest sleeper. Tonight sleep tight and build your nest upon my shoulder.

Brett Dennen

Thanks to a new journal post from JMraz I've just discovered Brett Dennen. I haven't listened to all of his stuff yet but Jason's never steered me in the wrong direction. They just finished up Jason's tour together. Check them out here.

Eight Down
I went to see Jason Mraz at Jones Beach last night. I can't even begin to explain how much I love him. K'naan and G Love & Special Sauce opened for him. (This one's for you, Erin!)

Happy Monday
I love James Morrison. This song was in 27 Dresses if you've heard it before. Good movie, great artist. Oh and but of course he did a duet with Jason Mraz.

Spanish smanish.
So I can barely speak a word of Spanish. That so doesn't stop me from loving Alex Cuba. Cuba's from Cuba and plays alternative-latin-indie-rock... whatever it is that he does, I'm hooked. I was channel surfing yesterday and saw someone interviewing him when he played Joe's Pub. Aparenetly he's big in Canada? Oh- but OF COURSE he covers Jason Mraz. (It's a spanish cover of this one). Just listen and love.
I love a good singer/songwriter.
I've already posted about my two other favorite artists (Jason Mraz & Joshua Radin) so it's about time that I profess my love for all things Ingrid Michaelson. She's been on tour and done duets with both Jason and Josh and will hopefully continue. She's amazing. There's really not much more that's left to say.
Ps. have you seen that new Mott's apple juice commercial with Marcia Cross? That's Ingrid singing in the background! "Be OK"

Dr. Feel Good
Last April I went to go see Jason Mraz at the Highline Ballroom in New York. Jason Mraz has been my favorite for as long as I can remember now and I've gone to see him a bunch of times and places. This show, by far, is the best show that I've ever been to and quite possibly ever will. There was an overflow of fun and this video from the end of their show infectiously makes you want to dance. It's not possible to feel anything but happy after you listen to and watch this. Why can't everything be this much fun? Please watch and enjoy. Oh, so it's Jason Mraz, Bushwalla (JMraz's BFF/ the one singing) and the Makepeace Brothers (killer real last name).
