Arrested Development

I'm a little confused why I haven't posted ANYTHING about Arrested Development yet (BEST. SHOW. EVER.) but I saw this episode the other day and I forgot how funny this was. Completely amused and can no longer listen to anyone saying "blah blah blah" without chuckling.

Portlandia

I've been watching the ifc channel like crazy the past couple of weeks. Fist of all they play Arrested Development marathons like crazy. Which is quickly making them my favorite channel. Anyways, they've got this new show Portlandia about life in Portland, OR starting in January and I can't wait to see it. It stars Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein aaand it looks amazing. Fingers crossed.

Hamm & Buble

If you're looking for a romantic night out at a restaurant that specializes in pork dishes and fine champagne...

I completely forgot to post about this when Jon Hamm hosted SNL a couple of weeks ago. Besides the fact that this was hunk-fest '10 it was really funny.

Elijah Wood

So I feel like this has been the weekend of Elijah Wood for me. I saw him downtown on Friday night and then Saturday he was on SNL in their digital short. I feel like that was pretty darn random. He was so cute and all over my weekend.

Welcome to the 60's

Everything around me has been very 1960's inspired lately: I just went to go see Taking Woodstock, I'm in love with Man Men. I've been completely obsessed with it for a while now and I think if you're not watching it, you're just foolish! It's one of the best shows around. Want to hop into your 60's self at Sterling Cooper? Man Men-ify yourself here.

Then I started thinking of everything else I love from the 60's (or at least inspired by it) and the first thing I thought of was The Wonder Years. [Sigh] Kevin and Winnie are one of the best TV couples. Ever. Then there's the musical Hairspray. I saw it 3 times during its Broadway run and I'd be hard pressed to think of a musical that's more fun to see. Musically, the 60's were insane but one of my all-time favorites are the Beach Boys. (That's right, that's who I picked from the decade). They've always been a favorite of mine and when you're influencing the Beatles, well hey.

And of course (my favorite part) the design. I was going through everything 1960's at the MoMA trying to pick just one picture and I landed on the Dylan print by Milton Glaser. I've always loved this print but I just found out he's the same guy who did the I love New York logo and he also founded New York Magazine. That's really groovy in a totally far out way.

Glee

I just finished re-watching the pilot episode of Glee on Fox and I'm really pulling for this show. This has left me in such a good mood each time I've watched it. You can watch the full pilot here and watch the new episode next Wednesday night. And I just figured out why I knew who Lea Michele was (the main girl with the amazing voice) - she was in Spring Awakening!!! Check her out here!

Mad Men

With the third season of Mad Men quickly approaching (August 16th!) that leaves just enough time for everyone to catch up. This show is one of the best around and everyone should check it out. Here's an abbreviated guide to seasons one and two. You'll kick yourself later... don't say I didn't tell you so.

Bayside

This made me smile. Mark-Paul Gosselaar was on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Monday and I didn't watch the interview until today. Basically, he come on as Zack Morris and basically it was awesome.

Mad Men

I dvr'd the second season of Mad Men and I've been re watching it the past couple of days. I've completely fallen back in love with this show. If you've never watched it before, what are you waiting for?! SO good- I love it because it's more like you're watching a movie. That and Don Draper is so dreamy! Oh, plus the show has some awesome graphics for the opening.

Ace of Cakes!!!

I love watching Ace of Cakes! It's amazing to think that they can actually make stuff that is that awesome that you can eat. It comes as no secret that I don't actually like eating cake but I think I would make an exception for one of these. Plus, I love that Duff has a whisk tattoo on his forearm. I love Charm City Cakes! I mean really, that box of crayons is a CAKE!
